I built Whoami.tech as an open-source project to give people a simple way to share who they are online. It’s made for developers, freelancers, and creators who want a clean profile, a blog, and a place to share their links.
How I built it

  • Rails 8 with Hotwire for speed and real-time updates
  • Tailwind CSS for styling and a modern dark theme

I deployed it on my own servers, making sure it runs smoothly and scales as new users join.

What it does:
  • Lets users create a profile page with their name, bio, and social links
  • A blog system for publishing posts
  • Built-in analytics to track profile visits and link clicks
  • Clean URLs with friendly IDs for SEO and readability

Real-world use

Right now the platform has about 100 active users who run their profiles and blogs on it. Seeing people actually use it in their daily life is the best part of the project.
